TRUST #7: A Simple Plan to Help Us TRUST More and Worry Less

https://www.annieandeverything.com/worry-less-trust-more/
Today, I want to share an article with you from my blogging friend, Annie, over at ANNIE & EVERYTHING.

I recently read the idea she shared about a simple devotional plan any of us can use to help us learn to TRUST more and worry less... AND, it doesn't cost anything to do it! All you need is your Bible, a notebook, and a pen.

She got the idea from a recorded sermon by John MacArthur. He made the comment that "anyone suffering from day-to-day anxiety needs to know God’s character better, and the way to know God’s character better is to read the Psalms."

So that’s what she did and, if you click over to her ARTICLE, you can read about how she did it. She shares two simple steps that can help us learn more about God and His character. And, as a result of knowing Him better, we can have more TRUST in Him.

Thank you for sharing this idea with us, Annie, and thank you for allowing me to share about it here on He Holds My Right Hand. I have been using this plan myself for the past few weeks, and it is great!

One more time, here is the link to Annie's article. I hope you will take the time to read it:

Blessings!

TRUST #6: Trust God's Decision on Leaders

Tomorrow is President's Day, a federal holiday here in the United States. While it is normally a day to remember our first elected president (Washington), and also our 16th President (Lincoln), it is also a time to reflect on ALL of our presidents (including our current one).

I don't discuss politics much because... well...  I just don't like it. Its just not an interest of mine. However, I do believe it is important to be respectful to the leaders we have in place, even if I don't agree with what they do. According to Romans 13:1, those who are in leadership are there ONLY because God instituted it. Yes, I did my part and I voted for who I thought would be the better leader. We all NEED to do our part. However, ultimately, I know the person who wins each election wins it because that is who GOD wants to have in office.

So, even if the leaders in place completely destroy our country, I choose to TRUST that, yes, GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL. Our country may end up lying in ruins - and in some ways it already is - but I believe my God has a plan, and He is using each situation to accomplish that plan.

So, what do we do when things aren't going the way we want, or the way we think they should go? Pray. Pray for the president and for those who give him counsel. Pray for him to have wisdom in leading our country to the best of his ability. Pray for him to accomplish the plans the Lord has laid out for him to do. Then, TRUST that even in the chaos God's got it all under control.

SPECIAL GIVEAWAY: "Whole Heart" Worship Music CD

I enjoy listening to worship music, when I'm in the right mood for it. I love Lauren Daigle, Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, etc. So, when I was given the opportunity to listen to a new worship CD from Passion Music, I took it.

From what I've been told, Passion Music is "rooted out of the Passion movement, and is committed to leading people towards renewed intimacy with God and fresh encounters of worship." It includes a group of worship artists who sing together at live Passion Conferences, such as Kristian Stanfill, Sean Curran, Melodie Malone, Crowder, and Matt Redman.

The most recent Passion Conference was held in Atlanta, Georgia, which birthed the new live album WHOLE HEART. I have been listening to a digital version of this music while I work on my laptop and have been enjoying it. I will also be receiving a physical copy of the CD later in March, which I'm looking forward to.

And, guess what?! I have the option to give away another copy of the CD to someone who follows my blog! Back in October, I said I was going to stop doing giveaways but, as I've thought about it more, I decided I would still like to offer a few giveaways throughout the year, in order to bless some of my readers. But I'm going to be handling them differently than before - no more online forms that collect personal information.

For THIS specific giveaway, if you want to be entered into the random drawing, all you need to do is be sure you are following "He Holds My Right Hand MINISTRIES" on Facebook. Just hit the "like" button on the page when you are signed into Facebook (or, there is a LIKE button on the left side of this blog, if you choose to use that). If you are already following the page, then you don't need to do anything. You are already entered!

Next Wednesday, February 21st (no sooner than 8:00 p.m. Central Time), I will assign a number to each follower of "He Holds My Right Hand MINISTRIES," then use Random.org to choose a number for me. If your name is chosen, I will contact you via a private Facebook message, and you will have 48 hours to respond. If no response, I will choose another number. NOTE: Giveaways are open to continental U.S. residents only.

The new WHOLE HEART digital album will be released on February 23rd. Here is the link where you can purchase at that time: PASSION:  WHOLE HEART. The physical CD will be available in March.

Here's a quote from the Passion website:

Passion is more than music.
More than events.
Passion is a generation living for His name.

Many thanks to Propeller Consulting, LLC for providing this prize for the giveaway.  Choice of winners and opinions are 100% my own and NOT influenced by monetary compensation.  I did receive a sample of the product in exchange for this review and post. Only one entrant per mailing address, per giveaway.  If you have won a prize from our sponsor Propeller /FlyBy Promotions in the last 30 days on the same blog, you are not eligible to win.  Or if you have won the same prize on another blog, you are not eligible to win it again.  Winner is subject to eligibility verification.

TRUST #5: Trust in God's Love for You

As Valentine's Day approaches, allow me to share with you 15 verses about the best kind of love there is - GOD'S LOVE.

When you doubt God's love for you, read over these verses and TRUST that His steadfast (firm, unwavering) love for you is abounding (much, many, great), and will endure forever.

Nehemiah 9:17 (ESV) - ...but you are a God ready to forgive, gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love...

Psalm 36:5 - Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.

Psalm 63:3 - Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.

Psalm 86:15 - But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.

Psalm 107:8 - Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!
Psalm 119:64 The earth, O LORD, is full of your steadfast love; teach me your statutes!
1 Chronicles 16:34 - Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!
Song of Solomon 2:4 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
John 13:34 - A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

Romans 5:8 - But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Galatians 2:20 - I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Ephesian 5:2 - And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
1 John 3:1 - See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God;
1 John 4:7-8 - Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.

TRUST #4: Remember How God Has Helped You in the Past

Corrie Ten Boom said, "Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God." That couldn't be more true for David and me right now because, this past Wednesday, David unexpectedly lost his job. So, we definitely have an unknown future, but that's okay. We are choosing to put our TRUST in a KNOWN GOD who loves us and has promised to provide for our needs.

Sometimes, trusting an unknown future to a known God is easier said than done. But, one way I have found to help me do that is to reminisce about the past, focusing on the wondrous works the Lord has done in my life.
~ I have good memories of times that have worked out well for me and my family, and of how God has provided for our needs.

~ I also have memories of difficult times that may not have turned out how I would have liked; but I knew the Lord was with me, holding my hand, giving me the strength I needed.
When I remember past circumstances, no matter what the outcome was, it helps me focus on the goodness of the Lord. That, in turn, helps to calm my fears of an unknown future, and helps me to TRUST the Lord more.

A suggestion to help you remember all the things the Lord has done for YOU (or brought you through), is to start keeping a prayer journal. My mother taught me to do that, and it really helps. It doesn't have to be fancy. Just get a simple notebook and write down your prayer requests and the date, then leave a little room to write down the answers/outcomes when they come. The more you look back and recognize His goodness in your life, the more you will be able to TRUST in Him. So, start one today, if you haven't already!

TRUST our God with your present and future because of how He has helped you in the past.
