My name is Victoria Stankus, wife to Rev. David Stankus for the past 29+ years. We met while attendingThe Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. We have two adult children. Our oldest is a 23-year-old young lady with autism, whom we call EL for short. Our youngest (Jon, or JJ for short) is an 19-year-old adventurous young man. We were a homeschooling family for 16 years, and you can read about some of the fun we had on our homeschool blog: SONset Academy. Now that I am retired from teaching, I work as a Personal Service Worker (Caregiver) for our daughter, while still continuing to post faith-based and/or family-friendly content.
I am a Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ, trusting in Him alone for the forgiveness of my sins. I know I am not perfect; but, with God's help, I continue to learn and grow every day, striving to be the best I can be - for HIM. I don't believe our main purpose is to please ourselves and to see how successful we can become in life. We are here on this earth to serve the Lord with gladness, glorifying Him in our words, in our thoughts, and in our actions.
It is my desire to serve the Lord all the days of my life. This blog was made for that very reason - to serve Him by doing what I love to do: WRITE and ENCOURAGE.
My favorite verse since High School has been Isaiah 41:13 (see in the heading above). It has been a great comfort and strength to me throughout the years, knowing that God has been there to hold my hand. It is my hope that this verse, and this blog, will be an encouragement to you as well, as we continue our journey here on earth.
Thanks for stopping by!
Eph 2:10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (NIV)
