About Me

Hello and WELCOME!

May 2024
My name is Victoria Stankus, wife to Rev. David Stankus for the past 32+ years. We met as students at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.  We now have two grown children. Our oldest is a young lady with autism - on here we call her EL for short. Our youngest, Jon, is an adventurous, creative young man who works great with his hands and is an aspiring filmmaker. We were a homeschooling family for 16 years. You can read about some of our fun on our homeschool blog: SONset Academy. Now that I am retired from teaching, I remain at home and work as our daughter's Personal Support Worker (Caregiver). In my spare time, I am a Freelance Writer and a Volunteer. I am not currently posting new content on this blog, but do still post on our Facebook page.

I am a Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ, trusting in Him alone for the forgiveness of my sins. I know I am not perfect; but, with God's help, I continue to learn and grow every day, striving to be the best I can be - for HIM. I don't believe our main purpose is to please ourselves and to see how successful we can become in life. We are here on this earth to serve the Lord with gladness, glorifying Him in our words, in our thoughts, in our actions, and by using the gifts/talents He gave us to encourage others. This blog was made for that very reason - to serve Him by doing what I love to do: WRITE and ENCOURAGE.

My favorite verse since High School has been Isaiah 41:13 (see in the heading above). It has been a comfort and strength to me through the years, knowing God has been there to hold my hand. I hope this verse and this blog will be an encouragement to you also as we continue our journey here on earth.

Thanks for stopping by!

Eph 2:10  For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (NIV)
